Is Slovenia one of the friendliest places in the world?

Is there a friendlier country in Europe than Slovenia? asks Max Davidson in The Sunday Telegraph travel supplement.

The article weighed up beautifully why Slovenia is a fabulous destination for even the most demanding traveller. Having visited last year I can attest to what this overlooked country has to offer: fabulously wild countryside, stunning architecture, amazing food and, best of all, exceedingly warm people.

So, it’s rather fitting that we have a new Tripbod who has joined the team from Slovenia. Mojca loves to talk about why Slovenia is the hidden gem of Europe, and that discerning visitors would do well to stop off here on route to the more touristy resorts in Croatia. But be warned, if you do make a stop in Slovenia, you may stay for longer than you bargained for. The feeling that you are in another world can be somewhat intoxicating.

Today Mojca told me about the Festival Lent in Slovenia (not the same as the Christian Lent festival) which is a spectacular of music and entertainment from 25th June to the 11th July. This globally renowned event sees over 400 performances to more than half a million visitors, making it a clear contender for the most buzzing music festival in Europe

So if you love live music, food, nature, friendly locals and people-watching, then I agree with Max Davidson – Slovenia is the place for you.
